A large, big boat sinking. It's the image that keeps coming back in my mind when I think of my two beloved clubs. Will Real Madrid bring home any silverware this year and end the drought? Will the Montreal Canadiens win the Cup this year? Before the centennial season in 2009-10? The last two questions are futile anyway. A better question would be: will they make the playoffs? The blunt answer to all these questions is, I fear, a big no.
UPDATE: I take it back. Madrid just won the Spanish title earlier today. Hala Madrid! Now, if only my beloved Habs could be so inspiring from time to time...
